Health Guide for Congenital Heart Disease

Interventions and exercise or activity

So as I discuss with my adult congenital cardiologist a possibility of another intervention, I think about preparing and recovering from such an event. Perhaps you have an intervention that is also imminent. You may be preparing for an OHS and wondering how you can be at your best so you can recover quickly and fully. In addition to how exercise can help, you may have other questions about how to prepare in terms of work, family, day to day living, insurance. The Adult Congenital Heart Association has an online publication called, “Preparing for surgery” It is full of information that the adult will need to navigate the process including an exercise section for preparation and recovery written by yours truly. It feature exercises with descriptions and picture of fellow CHDers who undergone multiple surgeries and interventions.
